What’s Fashion Mashie all about?
Well for 2012 my creative project goal is to wear a new outfit from my wardrobe every day – no repeats! My friend Sam calls a song ”mash-up” a “mashie” and I love that word to describe all the mixing and matching I’m going to be doing throughout the year with my clothes. I am lucky enough to be at the end of the hand-me-down line in my family so I have clothes that have been around for a very long time and some that I bought last week…I’m going to try not to buy any clothes in 2012 and make my focus really working with what I’ve got.
I hope that people will enjoy the variety and get inspiration, I’ll check out what’s in shops that’s similar if you love a look, and I especially hope that we can share ideas for mixing and matching outfits and realise that there are lots of outfits in all of our closets. Here’s to a creative and fun 2012 with a focus on making the most of what we’ve got … with a bit of refreshment when/if required.
I can’t wait to read your blog Ceara! May the mashies begin…
Looking forward to seeing all your outfits in 2012!
this is great! it’s going to be so awesome to see the transformation from season to season.

Just stooped by from As Time Goes Buy – I iwll certainly be back! Love the mashing- up of all the outfits!
Thank you, Laura.
The mashing is about to get a bit more extreme as the year goes on and I run out of first time wears!
Look forward to sharing the journey
sounds like it’s going to get exciting then!
Hi Laura,
You are right – I am excited because I can now wear the woolies from “the bottom shelf” and a whole pile of things that only come out in winter! Oh and lots of jeans – luckily I follow the other Laura on As Time Goes, Buy so I have lots of jeans mix and match tips!
Tag! You’re it!

http://fashionmashie.com/ – If I offered to buy you any piece of fashion past or present, what would it be? And why?
Oh my goodness …what a way to start the day! Where would I start?
Probably Grace Kelly’s wedding dress in High Society because I love those ballerina length dresses and anything 50s and I love that you can remove the little jacket and there is a beautiful sweetheart neckline strapless number underneath – since I was a little girl, I wanted to have a jecket for the ceremony and whipped it off and have a party dress underneath…very possibly inspired by this dress!
If the fantasy budget allowed, another past favourite is from the movie Singing in the Rain when Gene Kelly has a dream sequence and meets Cyd Charisse in a slinky spider web backed dress – I always thought that would be a great Halloween party outfit!
How about you?
I think the purple Jean Desses dress I wrote about is probably my dream dress…of course I would love to be skinny enough to wer the red Jessica Rabbit dress!
But that ain’t gonna happen!
Cheers,
Laura

I love your idea! To bad that I only discovered your blog when more of the half of 2012 has already passed. But I’ll follow, read and accompany you on your journey/experiment for the last days and steps!
Greetings from Germany,
