We headed to the Christmas service tonight and I sat with my 2 goddaughters who are with us this Christmas. What a lovely family time!

Day 343.2 – Diana Vreeland – Be Inspired to Make Beauty
A splash of red, a hand-me-down Zara frock from my big sister, a glass of wine and an outing with my Mum made the perfect setting for the inspirational afternoon I had delighting in gorgeous images of clothes and models and the artistry of the story your clothes tell about you and the life that you live and love. My year of telling my story through my wardrobe is nearly over but I look forward to many more years of sharing stories and wearing clothes that have been loved by others before me and brand-new clothes making brand new looks and starting new stories.
Check out this documentary if you love clothes and storytelling as much as I do.
Day 338 – The Mullet Wardrobe Returns
I started the day at work but was asked to leave a moment later as a rash on my hand from too much weekend cleaning was mistaken for hand foot and mouth disease. As it is super contagious obviously no one can have anything like that and be at school. Didn’t even have time to get a pic before I was sent home!
Needless to say, once you see the pic, I left the top of my work outfit on – Zara and birthday necklace – and switched to Sportsgirl shorts on the bottom because it was hot. Then I finished the massive “To Do” list of things that didn’t get done amongst all the washing and trips up and down to the clothes line at the weekend. Oh and birthday partying at Radio Lollipop.

I was totally in business mode up the top where it counts and chilled and cool in the bottom. Got lots done and got the all clear to go back to work.
Day 290 – Back in Black
Having another Chinese day today. My students and colleagues in Hong Kong used to love it because they thought I was East meets West in my Chong Sam dresses ![]()
These pants are a hand-me-down from my aunt and are funny and bumpy at the top but cool and slinky at the bottom so I love wearing them with a dress or a long top.
Day 283 – culottes are back
It’s really heating up and I thought I was ready today for my first bare legged day. I always find it amazing during the transition from winter to summer that we ever felt cold enough to wear layers of wool and then in the summer to winter shift I can never believe a tiny sundress was ever enough. Brisbane is in the full swing of spring with highs of 35 and lows of 15, hot one day, mild the next.
But enough about the weather, you’d think I was lost for conversation when really all that needs to be said is: it’s the right weather for sparkly ballet flats and that means … perfect!
Day 271 – Rock’n'roll Budgie
As the week went on we had lots of girlie chats in the teachers’ room and we decided to make Friday a day of colour explosion. One teacher thought we looked like budgies all walking around in our multi-coloured outfits! It looked great and helped everyone get through the last day of work before a long weekend ![]()
I wasn’t quite ready for my photo but I thought it looked quite Rock’n'roll and not very budgie! I do love a bit of juxtaposition on a Friday.
